This position is responsible for accurately administering radiation therapy treatments to patients at Mary Washington Hospital Radiation Oncology and Stafford Hospital Radiation Oncology, adhering strictly to the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription. The role also involves assisting the physician with simulation, treatment planning functions, and maintaining quality assurance and departmental compliance.

This position is accountable to deliver accurate radiation therapy treatments to Mary Washington Hospital Radiation Oncology (MWHRO) and Stafford Hospital Radiation Oncology (SHRO) patients in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription and instructions, and to assist the Radiation Oncologist in all simulation and treatment planning functions as required.

Required
Constant (67-100% of workday) use of arms and hands; frequent (34-66% of workday) standing, walking, sitting; occasional (0-33% of workday) bending and squatting; ability to lift 35 lbs.; ability to push and pull up to 20 lbs.; auditory and visual skills to include color determination

Risk of exposure to radiation and toxic chemicals. Potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens; must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Must complete MRI Associate screening and be approved to work in the MRI environment (Zones 3 & 4) at all times.
