Job Description: Summary:
Responsible for the receipt, centrifugation, pretesting preparation and suitability of blood and body fluid specimens submitted to the laboratory for testing purposes.
SPC is responsible for incoming and outgoing telephone communications, routine and special laboratory clerical work.
Consistent exposure to body fluid samples that may be of an infectious nature.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Keyboard experience preferred general office skills and telephone etiquette.
Under the direct supervision of the Specimen Processing Supervisor for the assigned shift as scheduled.
The employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
