The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients across various women's services units, including Labor and Delivery, PACU, and the OR. Responsibilities include performing staff nurse activities, acting as charge nurse when assigned, and maintaining accountability for assigned patients.
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse.
The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned.
The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters.
Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.
All team members will be expected to work all areas of their unit.
3N RNs will be required to work MB, NBN, and attend deliveries.
The LD RN will be required to work LD, WAC, LD PACU, and the LD OR.
NICU/NICU SD will be required to work both areas.
All Women Service team members will be required to float between units as needed to work within their scope of practice.
Candidates must have an Associate's degree in nursing, a Florida nursing license, and BLS certification. Additional certifications such as ACLS, NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN FHM are required within specific timeframes after hire.
