Anchor Home is seeking a Personal Support Staff to provide care and support for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home-based setting. This role is especially well-suited for a nursing student looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in direct care and community-based services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the Delegating Nurse in prioritizing and responding to client needs according to the Plan of Care.
Follow the individualized Plan of Care as written by the Delegating Nurse.
Support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, dressing, meal support, and grooming.
Provide mobility and transfer assistance as needed.
Assist with daily routines, light housekeeping, and maintaining a safe home environment.
Document care provided and client responses accurately and in a timely manner.
Communicate and actively listen to client needs and concerns while promoting dignity and independence.
Maintain client safety, comfort, and overall well-being.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Current undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Minimum of 1+ year of documented experience in caregiving for vulnerable adult populations Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred Valid driver’s license required Current CMT certification preferred
