The X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing X-rays and managing the distribution and ordering of supplies. They must also assist in stocking rooms and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.
Accurately interprets physician orders; including dosing, allergies, interactions and patient profile review. Accurately dispenses medications at the campus/ area assigned in a timely manner, in the appropriate quantities, using the appropriate techniques (ie: aseptic technique for IV admixture, appropriate paperwork for controlled substances). Performs clinical functions appropriate to the campus/ area assigned; including but not limited to – renal dosing, kinetic dosing, profile review, and patient education. Assists with inventory management as appropriate for special order items, conversion to formulary items, and processing out of dates. Provides appropriate drug information to physicians, nurses, and patients. Appropriately utilizes Pyxis Directs and supervises work of pharmacy technicians appropriately.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required: computer skills with word& XL Education: BS or Pharm D from an accredited college of Pharmacy Experience: hospital experience preferred, but new graduate is eligible with hospital rotations
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and ARRT certification. A minimum of one year of full-time clinical experience in healthcare is preferred.
