About the Role

We are excited to announce we are looking for a Full-Time, Bilingual(Spanish/English) Medical Assistant at Gyan Gastroenterology LLC – Nahar in Somerset, NJ

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
• Assist healthcare providers, including Nurse Practitioners, during medical procedures and examinations.
• Perform phlebotomy and draw blood samples accurately and safely.
• Process and label specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.
• Sterilize medical instruments and maintain a clean clinical environment to prevent infection.
• Answer phones, schedule patient appointments, and manage patient flow within the clinic.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Skills

• The required skills such as Medical Assisting, phlebotomy, and specimen processing are essential for performing clinical tasks accurately and safely, ensuring patient comfort and reliable diagnostic results.
• Proficiency with medical instruments and sterilization techniques helps maintain a hygienic environment, reducing the risk of infection.
• Vital signs measurement and blood draws are performed routinely to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and monitoring patient health.
• Strong communication skills, including answering phones and coordinating with Nurse Practitioners, facilitate efficient patient flow and effective teamwork.
• Preferred skills like familiarity with EHR systems and bilingual communication enhance the ability to manage patient information and serve a broader patient demographic effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• At least 1 year experience in a Medical office or Healthcare environment
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Proficiency in taking and recording vital signs accurately.
• Experience with sterilization techniques and medical instrument handling.
• Strong communication skills for patient interaction and administrative duties.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working alongside Nurse Practitioners or in a similar clinical setting.
• Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program
• Certification in phlebotomy and knowledge of specimen processing procedures.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Additional training in patient education and healthcare compliance.

Hours

• Monday-Friday 8:30am to 5pm
• Location: 17 Clyde Rd, Ste 101 Somerset, NJ Wednesdays (only) 1 Ethel Rd, Edison, NJ
