Provides multi-skilled patient care in the Emergency Department under the supervision of nurses or providers. Responsibilities include performing clinical tasks like EKGs and specimen collection, as well as handling clerical duties and patient transport.

Under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional nurse (nurse) or Provider (physician or Advanced Practice Provider) the Emergency Department Technician provides care appropriate to the patient populations served.
The ED Tech performs their duties based on the unit care delivery model.
This role collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver care as outlined by the nurse or provider.
ED Technicians assist with blood and specimen collection, splint application, obtaining electrocardiograms and assisting with the use of physiologic monitoring devices.
They also assist by assisting in clerical functions, transporting patients, running errands, transporting equipment and materials (body fluids) as needed.
The ED Tech adheres to a culture reflective of Centra's best practices for quality and service, creates and maintains a safe patient environment, and contributes to a healthy work environment.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and a certification as a CNA, EMT, or equivalent experience. Must also hold a current AHA BLS CPR certification.
