You will serve patients daily in a multitude of ways: What is in it for you Compensation is $45.00 - $50.00 per hour based on experience. Guaranteed Tuesday coverage required.

Responsibilities

Use of non-invasive procedures to examine heart valves, chambers, and blood vessels to produce images known as echocardiograms (ECGs). Perform imaging and non-imaging cardiovascular evaluations which may include exercise tolerance tests, Holter monitoring, event recorders, electrocardiograms, stress tests, and trans-esophageal echocardiography. Obtains patient history, explains procedures to patient, addresses patients’ concerns, and follows established pre-screening policy and procedure. Determines appropriate methodology and techniques to use; arranges immobilization and/or support devices for proper patient positioning; selects appropriate imaging device. Prepares patient for echocardiography procedures, positions patient as appropriate for prescribed procedure, and assists patients at completion of procedure. Uses good judgment when determining if the procedure was sufficient for proper diagnoses, or if additional imaging procedures are needed. Monitors the patient’s physical condition during the procedure; report patient change of status or emergency situations to clinical staff, supervisor and/or cardiologist. Recognize abnormal rhythms and immediately notify Physician or appropriate clinical staff. Cardiac Ultrasound diagnostic procedures and equipment/instrumentation used in Echocardiography. Cardiovascular principles, vascular physical principles, principles of ultrasound physics, and the propagation of ultrasound through tissues. Anatomy, physiology, and congenital/acquired pathology as they relate to the use and interpretation of ultrasound diagnostic procedures. Safety principles and procedures relating to ultrasound procedures and equipment. Quality assurance as it relates to ultrasound scanning/ultrasound equipment. Principles of electronic image processing and image development. Common computer systems and applications;

Qualifications

Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology or graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasonography. Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) – Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).

Licensing

Current state certification, licensure, or license eligible in states where applicable. Maintenance of current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for HealthCare Workers or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification for HealthCare workers. Skilled professional with a solid foundation in Echocardiography. Twelve months of accumulated experience within the last three years in a comparable job classification preferred, may be required.

Requirements

Requires an Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology or Ultrasonography and registration with ARDMS or CCI. Candidates must hold current state licensure and CPR/BCLS certification, with a preference for one year of recent experience.
