About the role

Partner with psychiatric nurses to provide safe, quality care and assist patients with daily living activities. Responsibilities include monitoring patient behavior, taking vital signs, and responding effectively to crisis situations.

Experience

One year of psychiatric experience on an inpatient psychiatric unit or comparable experience preferred.

Education

1. High school diploma or GED required. 2. BA in Psychology or equivalent degree preferred.

As a Mental Health Tech, you’ll partner with Psych Nurses to assure safe and quality nursing care in accordance with approved policies, procedures and schedules.

In our unit, you will assist patients with their daily living, take vital signs, observe patients behaviors, plan patient activities and/or support groups and respond to crisis situations in a timely, effective manner.

You will be skilled in prevention strategies to avoid crisis and problems that arise for your patients.

Position-Specific Benefits include

Licensures/Certifications

Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED is required, while a BA in Psychology and one year of inpatient psychiatric experience are preferred. Candidates must hold a current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
