About the role

The Medical Assistant serves as a phlebotomist and provider liaison within Overlake Clinics. Responsibilities include performing phlebotomy duties in a timely manner while coordinating multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Medical Assistant serves as a phlebotomist and provider liaison in Overlake Clinics.

Performs all duties in a timely and appropriate manner and works within the scope of licensure/certification requirements as applicable.

Strong analytical, telephone and computer skills required.

Interpersonal skills necessary to work with healthcare providers, patients and staff.

Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks.

Exposure to infectious and biohazard agents.

Occasional exposure to unpleasant odors.

Fast paced, sometimes high stress environment.

Work in close proximity to other individuals.

Full-time 1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week

8 hour / Days

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Phlebotomy certificate from an accredited school and/or on-the-job phlebotomy training, required.
  • Current Washington State Medical Assistant –Phlebotomy required.
  • Medical Assistant – Registered License (OC clinic will provide, once hired), required.
  • Health care provider CPR Certification, required.
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) registration a plus.
  • Outpatient Clinic experience preferred.
  • Experience with phlebotomy on geriatric, and adult, patients preferred.

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma, phlebotomy certification, and current Washington State Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy licensure. CPR certification is mandatory, and ASCP registration or outpatient clinic experience is preferred.
