Position Title: Histotechnician (Per-Diem)
Purpose & Scope: The Histotechnician is responsible for preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination, with primary responsibilities in tissue embedding, microtomy, specimen preparation, and general histology laboratory operations. The technician ensures high-quality tissue sections are produced in a timely manner while following laboratory quality and safety standards.
Associate degree or completion of at least two years of college coursework in biology, chemistry, medical laboratory science, or a related science field is preferred.

An associate degree in a science field and three years of direct histology lab experience are preferred. Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) from the ASCP is also preferred.
