About the role

Perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks under the supervision of a surgeon to provide comprehensive pre, post, and operative care. Act as a patient advocate and liaison between patients and physicians within the Cardiothoracic ICU.

  • Could you be our next Physician Assistant in Cardiothoracic ICU (50/50 DAYS and NIGHTS AND NIGHTS ONLY AVAILABLE) at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, PA? **This position is eligible for a $15,000 sign on bonus*
  • **Night shift differential while on a DAY/NIGHT ROTATION: $7.00/hour **Night shift component of pay while on NIGHTS ONLY: $20,000/year

Mending broken hearts is at the core of being a Physician Assistant PA-C in Cardiothoracic Surgery.

As a Physician Assistant, you will work under the responsibility and supervision of the surgeon, performing diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to allow the physician to extend their services through the more effective use of knowledge in to establish diagnosis and to plan and implement therapy.

You will have a major role being a patient's advocate in the medical system serving as a confidant, advisor, and liaison between patients and physicians.

Your expertise will be utilized in all aspects of care: pre, post and operative care.

Position-Specific Benefits include

Experience

1. Two (2) years recent experience in cardiothoracic surgery preferred. 2. Recent Board eligible graduate acceptable.

Education

1. Bachelor of Science degree in a physical science from an accredited institution required. 2. Must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program. 3. Must complete courses of training for both basic and advanced cardiac life support.

Licensures/Certifications

Must be certified or eligible for certification by the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants) and Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor of Science in physical science and graduation from an accredited physician assistant or surgical assistant program. Must be NCCPA certified or eligible and licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure.
