• FUNCTIONS: Communicate effectively with patients, visitors and other health care providers. Ensure availability of supplies and equipment; process sterile instrumentation and equipment. Performs housekeeping duties as necessary. Utilize sterile technique while setting up and assisting physician. Assist in direct patient care when necessary. Participate in call schedule. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

• QUALIFICATIONS: Education – 12-month certificate program or two-year associate degree in surgical technology. Work Experience – One-year minimum working in an OR as a surgical technician or a new graduate from a scrub tech school or program. Training – Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technician/Technologist program. License/Certification – BLS required within 6 months of hire.
