  • FUNCTIONS: · Demonstrates ability to recognize and assess emergency needs of patients and initiate appropriate emergency procedures as needed. · Demonstrates current level of knowledge of various payor regulations by functioning within those guidelines. · Acts to facilitate interdisciplinary communication. Utilizes other members of the health care team in assessing the patient and analyzes patient data. Assesses learning needs of the patient and significant others. Gives accurate and complete information to patient and family. · Evaluates patient and family understanding of treatment plan and/or instructions. · Assists with a variety of procedures, exams and/or operation of diagnostic equipment as assigned · Maintains appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures and medications administered. · Accurately and legibly documents all patient interactions in patient record · Reports results and pertinent information to patients and health care team members. · Functions according to limitations or scope of license or certification. · Performs basic nursing functions (vitals, rooming, assist with procedures, etc), under direction and supervision of physician. · Maintains professional appearance of patient exam and procedure rooms.

  • REQUIRED: · Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification must be obtained within first year of employment and maintained thereafter. · Clinic/physician office experience preferred. · Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support. · Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire. Requirements

Candidates must obtain CMA or RMA certification within the first year and BLS certification within three months of hire. Mandatory Reporter abuse training is also required within three months of employment.
