The Registered Nurse is responsible for administering direct and indirect nursing care to an assigned group of patients who are scheduled for Surgical procedures in the Short Stay Unit.
The RN performs assessment, intervention, evaluation, and teaching as they relate to the surgical procedure.
Provides patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team based on national standards, and utilizing the nursing process.
The RN functions within the Nurse Practice Act and other regulating bodies providing patient focused care.
The RN participates in process improvement, professional education, committees and meetings to maintain competence and advance the mission and values of Good Samaritan Medical Center.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Candidates must be a graduate of an approved School of Nursing and hold a valid Florida Registered Nurse license. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS, with PALS required within one year of hire and one year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
