  • The Medical Assistant provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within a busy medical neurology oncology office setting. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following: Provides direct patient care under direction of provider and nurses, including but not limited to: · Vitals · Allergy & medication reconciliation · Screenings · Patient history · Health maintenance · Advance directives · Virtual health Provides indirect patient care related to the Medical Assistant scope of education, including but not limited to: · Scheduling · Work queues / Worklists · Check in/check out · Referrals · In-basket · Chart prep · Non-clinical patient result callbacks · Prior authorizations · Transportation facilitation Conducts point of care testing including quality control & documentation including but not limited to:
  • EKG
  • Hemoglobin A1C
  • Urinalysis
  • Hemoglobin POCT
  • Urine toxicity
  • INR
  • hCG

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic Certification OR relative

experience

In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.

Requirements

Requires a diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or a CT CNA, EMT, or Paramedic certification. Alternatively, at least one year of direct patient care experience may be considered.
