Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Department under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include administering medications, performing treatments, and documenting patient data while ensuring a safe environment.

Licensed Practical Nurse LPN
This LPN will be working in the Emergency Department at Mount Carmel St. Ann's three 12-hour shifts per week from 7p- 7am with every third weekend and rotating holidays.
Prior hospital and/or Emergency Department experience preferred.
The Licensed Practical Nurse LPN - with Meds, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Functioning in the spirit of teamwork, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Organization.
Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives, and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.
Communicates pertinent clinical information to appropriate members of the patient care team. Keeps patient/family appraised/updated.
Performs treatments and procedures according to approved standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines. Administers medications, according to the organization’s standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
Documents accurately and completely pertinent information/data in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
Directs unlicensed staff in work related activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Demonstrates the ability to manage the patient assignment effectively.

Must be a graduate of a School of Practical Nursing with a current Ohio LPN license. Required certifications include Pharmacology (NAPNES/OOPNES/Board of Nursing) and LPN IV therapy.
