BAYADA Hospice is looking for compassionate, caring individuals to provide companionship and support for our patients and their families.
Our Colchester, VT office serves patients in Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, Lamoille, and Washington counties in Vermont.

Your important work will help ensure that our clients come first and that our BAYADA caregivers have the support they need to be successful.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to build a consistent, ongoing connection with a patient over time (you control your schedule and can choose whether or not to take on new patient assignments) Reliable and responsive communication with the Volunteer Coordinator, primarily via email Willingness to complete administrative requirements, including timely submission of volunteer hours Comfort interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences Openness to supporting individuals and families navigating the end-of-life Commitment to completing required onboarding and training What You Might Do as a Volunteer Offer friendly visits and conversation to provide companionship Read aloud, share stories, or reflect on meaningful life memories together Engage in activities such as music, crafts, TV, puzzles, or games Provide walking companionship (when safe and appropriate) Sit at the bedside, offering a calm and supportive presence Provide short breaks (respite) for caregivers by staying with their loved one Sit vigil and offer comfort during the final stages of life Support legacy or memory projects (letters, recordings, creative keepsakes) Provide pet therapy visits (must be therapy dog-certified) Offer haircuts (must be a licensed provider) Assist with office tasks or provide virtual support (calls, check-ins, events) BAYADA believes that our clients and their families deserve home health care delivered with compassion, excellence, and reliability.
