The Mammography Technologist is responsible for operating and calibrating diagnostic x-ray and mammography equipment to produce high-quality images for radiologist interpretation. They must ensure patient safety, adhere to radiation policies, and maintain equipment in accordance with MQSA regulations.
The Mammography Technologist will serve as a primary member of the Radiology Patient Care Team.

The technologist must perform all diagnostic procedures.

Maintains current on all diagnostic mammography equipment.

Consults with the radiation safety officer regarding radiation safety issues.
Demonstrates adherence to radiation safety policies and procedures in daily practice.
Has a thorough knowledge of the MQSA regulations. Performs required phantoms and quality control if necessary.
Is knowledgeable of Radiology’s chain of command and demonstrates consistent adherence to it.
Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned by radiology manager, radiology lead technologist and or lead mammography technologist.

Minimum education, knowledge, skills, and abilities required
Professional knowledge of Radiology and practice at a level normally acquired through the completion of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Must be a registered Radiologic Technologist or registry eligible pass the registry within one year of hire. Must take and pass the Mammography Registry within one year.
Cannot be on probation from the ARRT more than once.
BLS required.
