Examine and treat companion animals to diagnose and treat diseases or injuries using diagnostic equipment and surgery. Advise pet owners on preventative care and end-of-life options while maintaining accurate medical records.

Position Purpose Animal Care Hospital of Morris | Morris, Illinois Animal Care Hospital of Morris is excited to welcome a compassionate and motivated Associate Veterinarian to our growing team! 🏥 About the Clinic We are a 3-DVM, AAHA-accredited practice proudly serving the pets and families of Morris and the surrounding Grundy County area.

Plus, you’re just a short drive from Chicago, Naperville, and Joliet—making it easy to enjoy everything from quiet weekends to big-city adventures. 💼 What You’ll Love AAHA-accredited, high-standard facility Flexible scheduling that supports work-life balance Light and manageable on-call structure: Rotates every 3–4 weeks (Mon–Fri, 5pm–9pm) Calls are pre-screened and limited to existing clients Majority handled via phone triage (rare in-person visits) Strong partnerships with local veterinary technician programs Loyal, established client base that values quality care Stable leadership and a supportive, team-first culture Active involvement in the local community Essential Responsibilities Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.

Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.

Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.

Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.

Provide counsel around pet end of life care.

Maintain patients’ medical records.

Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.

Appropriate state licensure.

Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.

Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Requirements

Requires a DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited institution and appropriate state licensure. Candidates must be eligible for DEA/BNDD and possess strong professional communication skills.
