Collaborate with a physician to provide primary care services for ambulatory patients, including new patient, follow-up, and walk-in visits. Responsible for documenting patient encounters and submitting charges within the electronic medical record system.
The Certified Physician Extender will work in collaboration with a physician to provide primary care services for ambulatory patients in the Jackson Clinic.
Performs new patient, follow-up, and walk-in visits in collaboration with the primary care physician.
Documents and submits to the physician a list of patient encounters made each day for approval.
Documents and submits charges for all patient encounters in the electronic medical record.
Assists and takes initiative in handling issues of a non-routine nature.
Performs other duties as requested.
Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with national certification and current licensure in the State of Alabama. Previous experience in an ambulatory care setting is required.
