About the role

The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists by preparing and labeling medications, including IVs and chemotherapy agents, in a hospital setting. They are also responsible for maintaining inventory, managing work areas, and processing patient medication orders.

Become a Licensed Pharmacy Technician while assisting pharmacists in an inpatient clinical hospital setting.

Responsibilities

· Prepares, organizes and maintains work area. · Fills containers, prepares and affixes labels, prepackages pharmaceuticals, maintains records, and stocks supplies under supervision. · Prepares and labels IVs, hyperalimentation solutions, chemotherapy agents, and other pharmaceutical products. · Responds to patient admission, transfer, discharge, discontinued medication notices, and processes physician orders. · Assists with recordkeeping, billing and accounting functions. · Assists in ordering, receiving, inspecting and adjusting stock. · Maintains floor stock, crash carts and nursing station inspection reports. · Performs other related duties as directed.

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED Equivalent · Michigan Pharmacy Technician License or Enrolled in a Pharmacy Technician Certification Program (currently enrolled or upon hire) · Exemplary customer service skills · Requires attention to detail & multi-tasking skills Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans.
