  • Shift: Direct Patient CareThe Physical Therapy Assistant implements treatment programs under the guidance and supervision of a licensed physical therapist. This position strives to maximize function and movement, minimize physical limitations, and increase independence and participation of each child through providing therapeutic techniques, equipment, and opportunities. Duty Percent of Time Performs individualized treatment procedures in a professional and compassionate manner to maximize the child’s performance. 70% Collaborates and communicates effectively with members of the patient care team; performs timely and accurate documentation and stays up to date on the most recent Physical Therapy techniques through research and CE. 20% Participates in staff training, student observations, clinical instruction of students and interns, and family training opportunities. 5% Other duties as assigned. 5%
  • Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Experience

  • Pediatric experience preferred.
  • License/Certification/Credential: Physical Therapist Assistant license from the state of Oklahoma or proven eligibility for licensing within 3-6 months of employment with a temporary license. The ACHC accredited hospital offers inpatient and outpatient services for children (ages 0-21) and is the only inpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility in Oklahoma. Our CARF accredited multidisciplinary team works with patients and their families to maximize the patient’s physical and cognitive potential, and ensure the family has the training and resources needed for a smooth transition from hospital to home. Under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act (OMMA), a safety sensitive position is defined as any job that includes tasks or duties that the employer believes could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others. This statute allows Bethany Children’s Health Center to refuse to hire an applicant or discharge an employee in a safety-sensitive position, who tests positive for marijuana even if the applicant or employee holds a valid Oklahoma medical marijuana license.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program with a valid Oklahoma state license or eligibility for one. Pediatric experience is preferred.
