Position Summary

We are seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in College Station, Texas. This role is ideal for clinicians who value variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment.

Clinicians at NextCare enjoy true work-life balance, including no after-hours administrative responsibilities, flexible scheduling, and monthly schedules released in advance. Our full-time schedules are designed so clinicians are off more days than they work, allowing for greater flexibility both professionally and personally.

You'll be supported by experienced clinical teams, strong peer relationships, evidence-based practice guidelines, and accessible medical leadership that provides real-time guidance and mentorship. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-acuity presentations that keep your skills sharp without the demands of inpatient follow-up.

We offer a strong, competitive compensation and benefits package, along with opportunities for professional growth and advancement within one of the nation's leading urgent care organizations.

  • Key responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
  • Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including laboratory testing and imaging
  • Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, wound management, splinting, and other procedures as appropriate
  • Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
  • Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Code and bill services appropriately
  • Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
  • Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards, protocols, and core values
  • Required qualifications

  • Active DEA license (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to evaluate and treat patients of all ages
  • Current BLS certification
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
  • DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (certification fees covered)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
