Job Description: Summary
The Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the nuclear medicine equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans. Administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications to obtain diagnostic images and/or provides therapy as ordered by physician. Performs quality care to pediatric through adult patients using professional and ethical judgment along with critical thinking in performing duties.

The Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the nuclear medicine equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans. Administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications to obtain diagnostic images and/or provides therapy as ordered by physician. Performs quality care to pediatric through adult patients using professional and ethical judgment along with critical thinking in performing duties.
Graduate of an ARRT or NMTCB recognized Nuclear Medicine Program required.
0-2 years of modality specific experience.
Must be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) from the NMTCB or Registered Technologist (RT (N)) from ARRT or registry eligible with a B.S. or B.A. preferred. If registry eligible, must obtain certification within 12 months. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
