About the role

Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound exams including abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, and vascular procedures to detect pathology. Conduct specialized vascular checks for DVT and lower extremity venous insufficiency in the Vascular Clinic.

  • The Ultrasonographer shall perform duties involved with a variety of technical procedures utilizing high frequency sound waves to produce quality images for the detection of pathology.
  • This individual shall perform all diagnostic ultrasound exams including: abdomen, obstetrical, gynecological, small parts, and vascular. In the Vascular Clinic, this individual shall perform all vascular ultrasounds including lower extremity venous insufficiency and DVT vascular checks. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

  • Experience:Graduate of a Diagnostic Ultrasound program.

  • Certification: Active Ultrasound registry through
  • ARRT or
  • ARDMS required,
  • BLS required

  • Must demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work within rigid time constraints.
  • Must remain aware of patient conditions at all times.
  • Must possess reasoning ability and good independent judgment.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Position requires sitting for 30% of the workday and mobility 70% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals.
