About the role

The Physical Therapist evaluates and administers therapeutic procedures for children and adults to support rehabilitation. This includes developing individualized treatment plans, documenting patient progress, and collaborating with physicians to ensure quality care.

The Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and administers therapeutic procedures in physical medicine and rehabilitation for children and adults as prescribed by a referring physician. This role establishes individualized physical therapy goals, provides treatments, and regularly reassesses patient progress, documenting all findings accurately.

  • Essential Functions Conducts thorough physical therapy evaluations to assess patient needs and develops individualized treatment plans across diverse patient populations.
  • Administers safe and effective therapy treatments, ensuring all interventions are appropriately documented.
  • Reassesses and adjusts treatment plans within appropriate timeframes to align with patient progress and changing needs.
  • Provides clear, concise, and accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information.
  • Educates patients and their families on treatment plans, therapeutic exercises, and post-treatment care to support long-term recovery.
  • Operates therapy equipment safely and maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborates with referring physicians, peers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of patient care.
  • Demonstrates population-appropriate competencies for all relevant patient demographics, tailoring care to individual needs.
  • Maintains compliance with facility policies, including safety, infection control, and risk management procedures.
  • Adapts to changes professionally and effectively, following the chain of command to address and resolve issues impacting patient care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required 0-2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles, therapeutic techniques, and safety standards. Ability to perform comprehensive evaluations and develop effective treatment plans. Proficiency in using therapy equipment and technology for documentation and billing. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and maximize productivity. Commitment to professional development and adherence to ethical and legal standards. Licenses and Certifications PT - Physical Therapist license in the state of employment required BLS - Basic Life Support obtained within 30 days of hire required INDRESPTHER

Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy and a valid state PT license are required. Candidates should have 0-2 years of experience and obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
