Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to women across the lifespan served in the unit, from childbearing through geriatric years, and to infants up to 28 days old.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, supervise staff, and delegate tasks as appropriate.
• Assess patients, develop an individualized plan of care, implement interventions, and document patient response in the medical record.
• Administer medications and IV fluids per policy, including narcotic control, and maintain safety in administration.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and physicians; deliver patient and family education; participate in handoffs and shift reports.
• Maintain unit readiness, ensure a clean and safe environment, and demonstrate professionalism in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

Requirements

• Current, active Registered Nurse license in California
• Experience in a Women’s Care Unit or obstetric/gyne-related care is preferred
• Ability to provide age-appropriate nursing care from infant through geriatric populations
• Proficiency in assessment, care planning, documentation, and effective communication
• Availability to work the designated shift (3x12-hour nights) and participate in a 9-week assignment
