Job Description

Medical 100 is a 21-bed medical unit renowned for its dynamic, collaborative environment and commitment to exceptional patient-centered care.

Our team cares for patients with a variety of complex medical conditions, including congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), dialysis needs, advanced wound care, and hospice services.

With many patients experiencing a 3-night stay, nurses have the unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships while delivering compassionate, individualized care.

Teamwork is at the heart of everything we do, with nurses partnering closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team to achieve the best outcomes.

Medical 100 is an ideal unit for nurses who enjoy caring for medically complex patients, strengthening their clinical and critical thinking skills, and making a lasting difference in the lives of their patients every day.

The Medical-Surgical nurse is responsible for managing the care of the adult or geriatric patient experiencing general medical conditions or general surgical procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, keep records and provide patients and families with support and education. The Medical-Surgical nurse maintains a wide array of medical care knowledge in order to care for a diverse group of patients.

Education • Required

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience

Preferred:

  • Previous nursing experience
  • Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
  • Exhibits valuable time management skills
  • Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • Required: RN license active in the state of Missouri
  • Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and hold an active RN license in the state of Missouri. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and previous nursing experience are preferred.
