The Clinical Pharmacist – Inpatient & Infusion Center provides clinical and operational pharmacy support across Akron General's inpatient pharmacy and infusion services. Based within the inpatient pharmacy, this role rotates between inpatient operations and sterile compounding support for the health system's infusion centers, with approximately half of scheduled shifts dedicated to infusion pharmacy services. Responsibilities include medication order verification, patient chart review, sterile and non-sterile compounding oversight, triaging medication-related needs, and collaborating with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure safe and efficient workflow. Caregivers also support sterile compounding for the Akron Main infusion center and cross-train to regional infusion locations to provide coverage during planned and unplanned staffing needs, offering a diverse practice environment that combines inpatient pharmacy operations with specialized infusion services.

Market context
In Ohio, pharmacy intern roles are typically driven by ongoing staffing needs in retail, hospital, and community settings, especially for candidates building toward licensure. These roles are competitive because employers look for current College of Pharmacy enrollment, a valid Pharmacy Intern license, and comfort with algebraic calculations and computer systems. On this platform, the job requirements and benefits are AI-summarized from the original job description, saving you research time; before applying, confirm your license status and highlight any hands-on pharmacy or customer service experience.
