More about our team Our laboratory plays a crucial role in patient care by providing accurate and timely diagnostic testing and analyses. We're a team of dedicated professionals who are essential partners in detecting, diagnosing, and monitoring various diseases and conditions.

How you’ll contribute A Clinical Laboratory Scientist who excels in this role

Apply technical knowledge and skills to maintain procedural quality standards. Performs department specific waived, moderately complex and high complexity applications.

Maintains and applies procedural knowledge to deliver efficient, uninterrupted service, while reporting results within specified time limits.

Performs all calibration, quality control, instrument function checks, patient testing and troubleshooting according to the section’s procedure manual and operator’s manual. Performs preventive maintenance and reviews maintenance logs for completeness when scheduled.

Monitors and reviews QC and worksheets for completeness when requested. Collects and evaluates data for QA issues.

Recognizes, confirms and/or verifies test results that are unusual, delta failures, or verify failures as described in the section’s procedure manual or lab practice manual.

Help develop solutions to problems. Communicates opportunities to improve quality, workflow, and other pertinent issues to coordinate with tech or lab manager.

What we’re looking for Applicants should qualify under route 2, 3 or 4 of the ASCP Board of Certification. Possess bachelor’s degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological science and graduate of an NAACLS approved laboratory training program as applicable to the position. Additional requirements include:

Must be registered as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology or eligible to sit for the MLS certification exam.

Successful completion of certification exam within 12 months of employment.

Those who were certified after January 1, 2004, must renew their certification every three years by participating in and successfully completing the Certification Maintenance.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related science and graduation from an NAACLS approved program. Must be ASCP certified as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist, or eligible to become certified within 12 months.
