Performs clinical tasks including phlebotomy, EKGs, and administration of IV medications and blood products. Assists with gynecologic procedures, maintains sterile fields, and provides oncology patient education.
Performs Phlebotomy, EKG's, and medication administration including IM and IV Hydration, IVIG, Iron and blood products as ordered. JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Obtains vital signs and records medical history and treatments in EMR. Assist with gynecologic exams, biopsies, interventions and sterilization of instruments including setting up sterile fields for procedures. Educates patients in oncology as required. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse. BLS provider by the American Heart Association. Proficiency in Phlebotomy and 12 lead EKG, with a minimum of one year experience. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Medical Oncology experience. Experience with setting sterile fields and assisting with gynecological procedures including sterilization of surgical instrumentation. Experience in Cerner Power chart. As part of employment at Southampton Hospital, there may be occasions when travel to other locations is needed to support operational needs.
