City of Hope’s growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and cancer treatment centers and outpatient facilities in the Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix areas.

The pharmacy technician under the supervision of a registered pharmacist is responsible for assisting in the preparation and distribution of patient medications. The pharmacy technician will assist in maintaining inventory and stock medications throughout the hospital, utilizing pharmacy inventory systems. The pharmacy technician will assist with daily required review of regulatory paperwork and maintaining patient billing records.

The successful candidate

  • Must be able to work
  • FT 7 on/7 off night shift, with hours of 8:00 PM – 7:30 AM. Inpatient Pharmacy is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

  • Compounding: Competently prepares sterile IV preparations such as Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), IV drips, and chemotherapy in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines, ensuring patient safety and quality standards are met.

  • Distribution: Procures and distributes medication orders based on physician or pharmacist requests, adhering to established policies, procedures, and protocols.

  • Management: Assists in maintaining adequate stock levels of medications and supplies, utilizing pharmacy inventory systems and following established inventory control procedures.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include

  • Current Georgia Pharmacy Technician License
  • National Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) status obtained within 1 year of employment (if lapses during employment then employee has 1 year to reinstate)
