About the role

The Robotic Scrub Assistant facilitates safe and effective invasive surgical procedures under the supervision of an RN or Physician. They ensure the operating room environment is safe, equipment is functional, and patient safety is maximized throughout the procedure.

Overview The CFA, under the supervision of the RN/Physician is an integral member of the surgical team. The CFA facilitates the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the objective procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. The Surgical First Assistant applies knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique, human anatomy, surgical procedures, surgical instruments and equipment to provide services to surgical patients. The Certified First Assistant functions in all traditional duties of a scrub assistant under the direct supervision of the RN.

Qualifications

Education required: High School/GED. Successful completion of a Scrub Tech program. Successful completion of a First Assistant Program. License, Certification and/or Registration: Maintains certification as conferred by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Requirements

Candidates must have a High School diploma/GED and have successfully completed both a Scrub Tech and a First Assistant program. Certification from the NBSTSA and BLS certification are required, along with previous experience as a Scrub Assistant.
