About the role

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for conducting comprehensive patient evaluations and implementing individualized treatment plans to achieve functional goals. They must manage clinical documentation, billing, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care.

The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and providing ongoing treatment to help patients achieve their functional goals.

The OT ensures that all treatment is performed safely, effectively, and in accordance with professional standards.

The position requires effective communication, strong clinical knowledge, and the ability to adapt to changing patient needs and priorities.

Additionally, the OT is expected to manage documentation, billing, and the overall progress of patient care.

Essential Functions Perform thorough evaluations of assigned patients within the required timeframe, documenting findings in detail.

Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations and physician input, ensuring all goals are measurable and achievable.

Implement and administer occupational therapy interventions in a safe, effective, and patient-centered manner, adjusting treatment as needed.

Regularly assess and modify treatment plans based on patient progress, re-evaluating as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.

Safely and competently operate all equipment related to therapy interventions and ensure patient safety during their use.

Accurately document all patient treatments and sessions, ensuring proper billing and compliance with documentation standards, including the 8-minute rule.

Provide detailed and accurate records of therapy interventions, including time spent, modalities used, and specific interventions provided.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure collaborative care and comprehensive support for patients.

Mentor and educate patients and families regarding treatment strategies and goals, providing instruction on how to improve functionality outside of therapy sessions.

Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on additional duties or tasks as required to meet the needs of the patients and the team.

Education Bachelor's Degree Occupational Therapy License - Issued by Florida or Compact State Occupational Therapist Current Florida OT license; registered with the National Board for certification in Occupational Therapy Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) American Red Cross or American Heart Association Work Experience One (1) year Clinical experience

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and a current Florida or Compact State license. Additionally, a BLS certification and at least one year of clinical experience are required.
