About the role

Responsible for scheduling operating rooms, related equipment, and posting patients for inpatient and outpatient operative procedures. Coordinates communication between physicians, patients, and hospital staff regarding surgery dates and cancellations.

Under general supervision, performs complex computer operation duties involving the scheduling of operating room and related equipment, and the posting of patients for operative procedures

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent.

1 year’s experience (Additional education beyond high school may be substituted for experience).

Previous pain management and procedure posting experience preferred Skills

  • Knowledge in medical terminology
  • General knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment; of business English, spelling, punctuation grammar and arithmetic.
  • Skill in using a variety of office software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages, and databases applications to produce documents.
  • Skill in understanding and following oral and written instructions and in communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Skill in proofing office correspondence, forms, and other work product for typographical errors, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Skill in performing basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Skill in accurate alphabetical and numeric filing.

Principal

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Types letters, reports, forms, correspondence, diagnostic test results, patient histories and notes from machine dictation or rough draft. Assembles files for new patients according to procedure and updates records and files for current patients. Pulls and prepares patient chart for appointments.
  • Schedules, confirms, and coordinates patient appointments. Prepares and prints daily patient schedule and distributes to appropriate personnel. Mails patient appointment reminders and calls patient prior to appointment to confirm.
  • Prepares charge slips for patient appointments. Collects co-pays, processes/closes credit card payments, and records patient charges for billing office. Updates patient demographics and enters into computer system.
  • Prepares request for release of medical records and collects appropriate fees.
  • Assists in the back office duties as needed.

Pay Range

$17.30 - $25.11

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
