Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), you will help patients and medical staff by performing precise clinical laboratory testing and maintaining laboratory operations within regulatory guidelines so they can ensure accurate and timely patient care and diagnosis.

Every day you will perform routine and specialized laboratory testing procedures.

You will be expected to monitor quality control and instrument performance to ensure test validity, manage equipment maintenance, accurately track and label specimens, and communicate critical or abnormal results to physicians and nursing staff in a timely manner.

To be successful in this role, you must have at least six months of prior clinical laboratory experience and an Associate's degree in a chemical or biological science (or completion of an accredited medical laboratory technician program).

Having a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or an equivalent credential is preferred.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of microbiology, biology, hematology, immunohematology, urinalysis and chemistry.

Knowledge of a clinical laboratory as it applies to the collection and processing of samples.

Testing of samples, interpretation of results, and the communication of those results to appropriate personnel.

Knowledge of laboratory chemical and biological safety Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment Job Requirements Required Associates of Science in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA or HS or GED Diploma and completed an official military medical laboratory course and held the military enlisted occupational speciality of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician)

Requirements

Requires an Associate's degree in biological or chemical science and at least six months of clinical laboratory experience. MLT certification from ASCP or an equivalent credential is preferred.
