We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cardiothoracic surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical care, including surgical assistance, inpatient management, and outpatient clinical services. This position is essential to our multidisciplinary approach to delivering exceptional surgical care.
Serve as first assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
Perform endovascular harvesting of saphenous veins and radial arteries for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and other procedures.
Manage hospitalized cardiothoracic patients, including pre- and post-operative care.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Perform patient evaluations, assessments, and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
Conduct follow-up visits and manage the ongoing care of cardiothoracic surgical patients in the clinic setting.
Educate patients and families about post operative care.
Help coordinate follow-up care back to cardiology once post cardiothoracic surgery care has been determined to be completed.
Proficient in the use of advanced surgical equipment and techniques related to vein and artery harvesting.
Skilled in the management of wound care, suturing, and other perioperative tasks.
Actively participate in case discussions and care planning with the cardiovascular surgical and medical teams.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the cardiovascular department.
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in South Dakota required.
Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or PA with a focus on cardiology or cardiovascular surgery preferred.
Experience in endovascular vein and artery harvesting is required.
Strong background in inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care preferred.
Proficient in clinical assessment, diagnostic interpretation, and treatment planning.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Requires current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in South Dakota and experience in endovascular vein and artery harvesting. Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or PA with a cardiovascular focus is preferred.
