This Chaplain position is located at the Neonatal Care Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Performs spiritual functions associated with beliefs and practices of religious faith or denominations as authorized and provides spiritual and moral assistance and guidance to patients, families and staff by performing the following duties.

Include the following and other duties which may be assigned:
Minister to patients and/or families while they are in Driscoll Children's Hospital.
Respond to deaths at Driscoll Children's Hospital.
Participate as part of interdisciplinary teams in the holistic treatment of patients.
Facilitate the discovery and use of spiritual resources from the lives of patients and their families during their hospitalization.
Be a liaison between special needs religious groups and local clergy support as needed.
Provide spiritual and emotional support to DCH staff.
Perform religious rites and sacraments as needed, e.g. funerals and weddings.
Serve as resource person for local clergy.
Work schedule is normally 0800-1700, Monday through Friday. It also includes on-call duty for providing 1/3 of coverage for 24/7/365 pastoral care coverage for the hospital, including coverage of 1/3 of weekends annually.
On-call whenever not on-site, providing emergency coverage.
Perform clerical duties as needed.
Ecclesiastical endorsement by a faith group
Must have strong interpersonal and written/oral skills to interact effectively with patients, patient's families, visitors, hospital and medical staff
Spanish speaking preferred
Ability to safeguard confidences
Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Driscoll Children’s Hospital
Requires a bachelor's degree and theological education leading toward Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) status, including 4 units of CPE. Must possess a valid Texas Driver License and ecclesiastical endorsement.
