The Respiratory Care Practitioner provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including diagnostic and therapeutic services. They also perform patient care and education, and may work at both LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals.
The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)-Sleep Disorders Center (SDC) provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.
Associate's Degree from a two year American Medical Association (AMA) Respiratory Therapy Program as specified by National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). Minimum one year of clinical experience in an American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) accredited Sleep Disorders Center preferred.
Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) required. If Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) ineligible, Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certificate required within eighteen (18) months. If RRT eligible, RRT certificate required within twelve (12) months or RPSGT certificate required within eighteen (18) months. Procession of both RRT and RPSGT certificate preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
