The Registered Nurse provides quality nursing care by assessing physical and psychosocial needs and implementing patient-centered care plans. They collaborate with healthcare teams to maintain professional standards and coordinate activities for patients and their families.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care through the utilization of the nursing process. Works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. Carries out functions according to hospital policy, the hospital mission, and standards of practice defined by professional and regulatory guidelines. Directs, coordinates and delegates activities in order to foster patient / family centered care.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Assesses the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of the patient. Plans and implements nursing care according to patient and family needs. Makes appropriate interventions based upon individual patient needs. Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions. Assumes personal responsibility for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, environment and professional development.

Required

  • Associates or Bachelors degree. Graduate of an accredited Nursing program. Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license BLS card from AHA required before start date (valid at least 60 days beyond start date) Fetal Monitoring certification (or within six months of hire) Neonatal Resuscitation
  • Program (NRP) certification (or by end of unit orientation)
  • Preferred: One year of experience in Labor & Delivery Previously experience with mother/baby and circulation of OR procedures; including DNC, tubal ligation, and
  • C-sections
  • ACLS certification
  • Weekend/Holiday
  • Requirements: Weekend 1 & 3 and Holiday A Selected candidate will be required to work weekends 1 & 3 of the 28-day schedule, as well as the Holiday A rotation. Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans

Requirements

Candidates must have an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, a Michigan RN license, and BLS certification. Fetal Monitoring and NRP certifications are required either before start or shortly after hire.
