About the role

The Primary Therapist coordinates overall treatment for chemically dependent adolescents in a residential setting. Responsibilities include delivering individual, family, and group therapy while managing assessments, treatment planning, and discharge preparation.

Western Colorado's premier healthcare facility, Valley View Hospital has opportunity's for full-time Primary Therapist's in the Youth Recovery Center (YRC).

This position utilizes a variety of treatment approaches to work with chemically dependent adolescents. Coordinates the overall treatment for the client during their stay at the YRC. Delivers individual and group therapy. The YRC is a unique, in-hospital residential treatment program that will be helping adolescents, ages 15-18, work through substance addiction recovery and address mental health needs.

This is a full-time position - working 40 hours/week.

As the Primary Therapist you will

1.

Deliver individual, family, and group therapy addressing substance use, co-occurring disorders, cravings management, refusal skills, and relapse prevention.

2.

Coordinate all phases of client care, including assessment, treatment planning, discharge preparation, and aftercare follow up.

3.

Apply Wraparound principles to empower families, build strengths, increase independence, and expand access to community resources.

4.

Assess risk, respond to crises, and exercise sound clinical judgment to ensure safety and therapeutic progress.

5.

Maintain consistent communication with families, YRC staff, and community partners to support continuity of care.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in clinical counseling, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) is required.
  • Active Colorado licensure (DORA): Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Psychologist is preferred.
  • CAC Certification is strongly preferred; or actively working towards in an agreed timeframe.
  • BLS certification through the AHA.
  • Experience with adolescents and/or addiction recovery is preferred.

Salary Range

  • Licensed: ‎$32.68 - $48.06/hour
  • Supervised: $24.84 - $36.52/hour
  • Starting wage dependent upon experience, education, and skill set

Requirements
