8-hour day shifts Monday-Friday between 8:00am-5:00pm
No evenings, weekends, or holidays
Mainly prepping slides for Mohs provider procedures. During downtime will help room patients and other assignments as needed.
Associates degree in laboratory or biological sciences required. Laboratory experience preferred.
Prepares sections of tissue specimens for routine and special examinations.
Performs histological procedures to embed, stain, and mount samples using routine and special techniques to make tissue slides used for diagnosis.
Examines specimen slides; enters and tracks result information and generates result reports.
Maintains and repairs lab instruments.
Sterilizes work area and stocks supplies.
Ensures all lab safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met.
Will work with self-discipline and good judgment while following established standards of practice.
Will be responsible for performing routine duties in all areas of the Histology Laboratory.
May be required to interact with all ages of client population.
Recognize responsibilities of other laboratory and health care personnel and interact with respect for their jobs and patient care.
Keep abreast of new procedures in the department as well as changes in general hospital policy and procedures.
Associates degree in Laboratory or Biological Sciences required.
