Technician to work the evening shift from 3:00pm - 11:30pm. This position is a full time, benefits eligible position. Position includes an every other weekend commitment. Malvern has recently increased their shift differential! The mental health technician assists in the direct care & management of patients across a young adult age range with medical and behavioral issues as directed by the treatment team. Assists with unit programming to facilitate the carryover of therapy issues, leisure activities, and activities of daily living with the functional ability of patients and with consideration for the patient's level of growth and development.

Malvern Behavioral Health is an acute behavioral health unit which helps young adults, ages 18 to 26, overcome mental health illnesses and addictions so that they can become thriving adults. We use a diverse range of treatment options, including evidence-based practices, to help individuals with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, addictions, and psychosis. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent or combination of education/experience. Prefer bachelor’s degree or college courses in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth & development.
Experience
No minimum. Prefer one year’s experience as a nurse’s aide, mental health aide, psych aide, or the equivalent in a rehabilitation, psychiatric, or similar setting.
Licensure/Certification: Current CPR Certification (American Health Association Healthcare

REQUIREMENTS: Requires sufficient body mobility to accomplish essential functions. Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend, stoop, and kneel with ease. Requires walking and standing often. Requires frequently speaking on the telephone. Must be able to occasionally lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Able to assist with the restraint of individuals weighing up to 250 pounds. Emotional stability necessary to perform essential functions. Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Communicating fluently and effectively both verbally and in writing in English. Ability to perform HWC techniques. Ability to appropriately interact with all program staff, patients, visitors, attending Physicians, and other department representatives.
