About the role

Responsible for providing family-centered nursing care for antepartum, laboring, recovery, and postpartum patients, including newborns. Oversees daily patient flow and collaborates with providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Join our close-knit Family Birth Center RN team and experience an unmatched lifestyle! Our 7+ bed LDRP unit provides care for a healthy population of mothers and newborns. However, our skilled team also expertly manages high-risk conditions such as preterm births and preeclampsia. We’re proud to offer a single-suite OR designed for family-centered cesarean sections and a 6-bed Level II nursery that cares for babies 32+ weeks gestation.

Our nurses are NRP certified and trained in STABLE, ensuring we’re fully prepared to stabilize and transport infants when needed. With high autonomy in practice, our team is supported 24/7 by an on-call NNP and OB provider, ensuring the best care for our patients. This is a PRN position.

About the opportunity

  • This position is responsible for caring for antepartum patients, laboring patients through childbirth, recovery, and postpartum, providing family centered care including the well newborn. Assure expert, compassion, individualize nursing care for patients and families expected. They collaborate with providers, staff and other members of the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • What you will do: 1. Oversees the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety and satisfaction. 2. Demonstrates ability to triage incoming patient requests for services. 3. Delivers patient education to facilitate plan of care, employer informed healthcare choices, and promote optimal wellness. 4. Demonstrates ability to delegate care appropriately and according to Colorado statue. 5. Demonstrates competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills and critical thinking skills. 6. Demonstrates ability to handle high telephone volume of patient requests for medications, information and assistance. 7. Administers medications, performs treatments, and assists in procedures as needed; consistently adhering to patient safety guidelines. 8. Coordinates patient care with other physician practices, Vail Health and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction. 9. Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 10. Delivers excellent service by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients and families. 11. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need

Experience:

  • One-year clinical experience required.

License(s)

• Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Colorado Registered Nurse license.

Certification(s)

Basic Life Support (BLS), required.

Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification, required.

Advanced Cardiac Life Safety (ACLS) certification, required.

Education

• Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after 07/01/2018.

PRN (POOL) benefits include

Wellbeing reimbursement funds and 403(b) contribution eligibility .

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.

Hourly Pay

$37.90—$60.45 USD

Requirements

Requires at least one year of clinical experience and an Associate Nursing Degree. Must hold or be able to obtain a Colorado RN license and certifications in BLS, NRP, and ACLS.
