About the role

The Medical Assistant supports the perioperative team by preparing patients for evaluation and assisting physicians with examinations and minor office procedures. They are also responsible for maintaining sterile instruments, documenting patient data in the EMR, and ensuring a clean clinical environment.

Description McIver Clinic has been a trusted leader in urological care in Jacksonville since 1921. With multiple locations throughout the greater Jacksonville area and more than 27 providers, we deliver compassionate, patient-centered care across the full spectrum of urology, from minimally invasive procedures to complex surgery and oncology.

We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and patient-centered Medical Assistant to join our perioperative team. This position supports providers and patients at both our Orange Park and Fleming offices, requiring flexibility to work between sites.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent clinical and communication skills, a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Essential Job Functions

Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for evaluation by the provider. Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and the reason for the patient's visit. Prepare, organize, and maintain sterile surgical instruments and procedure trays for in-office procedures. Assist physicians with examinations, minor office procedures, and other clinical duties within scope of practice. Ensure patient privacy and maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and organizational confidentiality standards. Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms and clinical work areas. Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting a positive patient experience. Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned to support the needs of the practice. Full-time; Monday-Friday

Requirements

Education and Experience: High School diploma required CPR certified Medical/urology office experience: 1 year (Preferred) Allscripts/EHR (Preferred) License/Certification: Medical Assistant certification (Preferred) Ability to perform KUB's is a plus We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
