We offer paid training in Mammography in this program and will initially train in screening mammograms.

Please note that there is a 2 year commitment to the company following your training.

No Mammography experience required but you must have an ARRT certification in radiography to be cross-trained.

Shift

  • Monday to
  • Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
  • Location: Pineville will be the primary location but this position will float and fill in at other locations in our southern region (mileage will be reimbursed per company policy)

Position Summary

The Mammography Technologist I performs technical activities associated with screening mammography procedures to obtain high quality images of the breasts and serves as an integral part of providing an exceptional patient care experience. Essential

Duties and Responsibilities

Operate mammographic and other imaging equipment/devices in accordance with organizational protocols Position patients, using immobilization when necessary Evaluate radiographs for image quality, adjusting position, density, or contrast and obtaining additional images as needed Explain screening procedures to patients Prepare exam rooms and equipment for studies, ensuring cleanliness and adequate stock/inventory of clinical supplies Obtain, verify, and document all pertinent information for patient visits, including patient clinical history and prior imaging Identify care requirements relative to each patient’s age-specific needs Use radiation safety measures and protective devices to comply with government regulations and ensure the safety of patients and staff Assist with onboarding and training new Mammography Technician I’s Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Certifications: ARRT X-Ray licensed technologist, BLS, CPR Education/Licensing/Certification: Graduate of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology Experience: No Mammography experience required but you must have an ARRT certification in radiography. ARRT advanced certification in mammography must be obtained within 1 year of hire BLS CPR certification Computer literate Ability to read and interpret medical reports Anatomic knowledge of breast tissue pattern and related structures as well as breast pathology and treatment of breast pathology Knowledge of radiographic technique and positioning Excellent communication skills Excellent customer service, both internal and external Excellent time management and organizational skills Travel required: 0 – 25% Primarily walking and standing Lift up to 25lbs Role may be exposed to radiation, infectious disease, and bloodborne pathogens Charlotte Radiology offers competitive base salary and comprehensive health and welfare benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, PTO, Telehealth, Disability, Employee Assistance Program, and 401k Retirement Savings. Requirements

Must be an ARRT registered technologist in radiography and a graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. Candidates must obtain ARRT advanced certification in mammography within one year of hire.
