Job Description

40 Hours a week - Days/Early evenings, variable schedule.

Rehabilitation Services – Inpatient

Elliot Rehabilitation Services inpatient department is a large multidiscipline department consisting of physical, occupational, and speech therapists that treat patients across the lifespan in a collaborative model with nursing, case management, providers, and other ancillary services. Elliot Hospital is a Level 2 trauma center, a DNV Orthopedic Center of Excellence, and has a Level 3 NICU all of which the rehab department supports with highly trained staff and quality, evidenced based interventions. We support all units of the hospital including ICU, CICU, Pediatrics, Medical Surgical and the ED. The Elliot encourages early mobility, return of function and work with patient centered goals towards optimal discharge outcomes.

About the Job

At the direction of inpatient Clinical Nurse Managers, assist in or provide mobilization and personal care of patients and preparation of equipment used to mobilize or treat patients.

What You’ll Do

Prepare and position patients for treatment. Assists during and after treatment.

Assists with toileting and sets up for personal care of patients.

Assists with ambulation and exercise plan.

Assembles supplies, sets-up and adjusts equipment, and prepares treatment modalities.

Assists with transfers and mechanical lifting of debilitated patients.

Assists in transporting patients.

Maintains mobility supply levels.

Maintains orderliness of mobility supplies.

Performs daily mobility equipment sweep on inpatient units.

Performs other duties as required or assigned.

What Youll Need

Education

High school graduate or the equivalent required.

Experience

Proven experience working with the public desired. Previous experience working in a medical setting preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Certification/Licensure

Must obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire and maintain CPR certification.

Other

Employees acknowledge and understand their role when participating in applicable quality certified programs. This includes remaining up to date on annual education, additional requirements, and performance evaluations as it relates to any quality certification and/or designation the hospital participates in (e.g., Orthopedic/Spine Center of Excellence program).
