About the role

The Admissions RN manages the intake process, including triaging mental health status and coordinating with referral sources. They are responsible for identifying insurance benefits, completing admission requirements, and communicating safety concerns to nursing staff.

Responsibilities

  • The Vines Hospital is currently recruiting for a FT RN to join our Admissions Department The Admissions RN is responsible for being able to perform all aspects of The Vines Hospital’s intake and admission process, including efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, knowledge of and communication with referral sources; providing hospital and program information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professionals; making outside referrals, when appropriate; assessing and triaging an individual’s mental health status; making patient safety and level of care recommendations to The Vines Hospital’s physician; identifying insurance benefits, pre-certification of patient care; completing all admission requirements; communicating patient safety concerns and pertinent patient information to unit nursing staff and documenting all necessary information in Med Series 4.
  • The RN will review packets, accept and admit patients.
  • This position requires a person to work with minimal supervision and will work with all facility units: business office, medical staff, medical records, utilization review, marketing, and nursing.

Qualifications

Education

Associate degree in Nursing required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience

Minimum of two (2) years experience in the mental health field preferred. Previous assessment experience required.

License

Licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse required.

Excellent communication skills. Ability to relate to those emotionally disturbed and in crisis. Requirements

Candidates must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Florida with at least an Associate degree in Nursing. Previous assessment experience is required, and two years of experience in the mental health field is preferred.
