Responsibilities

Administer oxygen and PAP therapy per physician orders; instruct patients on equipment use and care. Write detailed, accurate reports of findings and therapeutic interventions. Collect and review patient medical history, medications, and relevant information for study appropriateness. Maintain, calibrate, clean, and troubleshoot sleep lab equipment. Provide age-appropriate care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Evaluate patient and family educational needs; provide direct education or referrals. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other team members to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited Polysomnographic, Respiratory Therapy, or Electroneurodiagnostic program required Associate's degree in health sciences preferred Experience: Minimum 6 months of clinical experience in a Sleep Center required License(s)/Certification(s): Registered Polysomnographic Technologist Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT) OR Sleep Disorder Specialist National Board for Respiratory Therapy Care State licensure in Polysomnographic Technology or Respiratory Care required where applicable Iowa board of Respiratory Care and Polysomnography (IBRC) Illinois Department Of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) Iowa Board of Respiratory Care and Polysomnography (IBRC) Wisconsin Department OfSafety And Professional Services (WIDSPS)

Requirements

Requires graduation from an accredited Polysomnographic, Respiratory Therapy, or Electroneurodiagnostic program with at least 6 months of clinical experience. Must hold a BRPT or Sleep Disorder Specialist certification and applicable state licensure.
